Description
The core of the book "State Symbols of the Slovak Republic" is the foundation for the practical use of the state symbols of the Slovak Republic, illustrated with numerous examples of their correct and incorrect application in everyday practice as well as in ceremonial moments. The book also includes heraldic and flag etiquette, which is based on respect for both one's own and foreign symbols. The author also presents the history of the creation and development of the state symbols of the Slovak Republic and pays attention to the flag of the European Union, which has become part of the flag presentation of the Slovak Republic since its accession to the EU. The book is complemented by a terminology glossary from heraldry, vexillology, and sfragistics. It also includes the text of laws and other regulations governing the current use of state symbols in the Slovak Republic. The author, PhDr. Ladislav Vrtel, is a heraldist, archivist, and historian. He works in the Archives Department of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, serving as the chief state advisor for heraldic creation and the administrator of the Heraldic Register of the Slovak Republic.
