This brilliant detective story featuring the famous Hercule Poirot is being released in a new edition. There was a time when Mr. Hercule Poirot seriously considered retirement to devote himself to growing pumpkins. Fortunately, this threat did not materialize, and in Cards on the Table, the genius Belgian is once again presented in top form. The Scotsman Mr. Shaitana, an eccentric collector of curiosities, became famous for his extravagant parties. When this mysterious man boasts to Hercule Poirot that murder is an art form for him, the detective hesitantly accepts an invitation to a bridge party, during which the host plans to introduce him to a private "collection" of murderers. In addition to four guests who supposedly committed murder in the past, four detective greats gather at Shaitana's: Superintendent Battle from Scotland Yard, renowned detective author Ariadne Oliver, Colonel Race from the royal secret service, and the illustrious detective Hercule Poirot.
