The book Architectural Structures is a university textbook that summarizes the long-standing pedagogical and professional experiences of Assoc. Prof. Ing. Arch. Jaroslav Drápal, CSc. (* 1934) at the Faculty of Architecture of the Brno University of Technology. Inspired by the method of the German engineer and architect Curt Siegla (1911–2004) from 1960, he developed his own way of teaching the principles of load-bearing structures using models made of paper, fabric, or textile fibers. His method soon became well-known not only in Brno but at all architecture schools in the country.
