Description
This book was created based on lectures in both the master's and doctoral programs at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology. Its aim is to familiarize readers primarily with the basic concepts of analytical mechanics and continuum mechanics and to expand them sufficiently to serve as a bridge connecting the fundamental courses of mathematics and physics at technical universities, enabling readers to study specialized literature in these fields without difficulty. The method of exposition is chosen to utilize various perspectives and different symbolisms to correspond to the diversity that is common in professional literature and with which the reader will certainly encounter in the future. The structure of the exposition was chosen to formally resemble mathematics textbooks. Definitions, fundamental laws, and results derived from them are emphasized, and the text is graphically adjusted accordingly. The exposition is supplemented at the end of the book with a number of solved examples.
