The book is the result of many years of research by archaeologists from the Institute of Archaeology and Museology at Masaryk University in the area of the Northeast Forecastle of Pohansko near Břeclav. The publication presents to the professional public the settlement structure of the Northeast Forecastle, the finds, and the first interpretations of archaeological sources obtained from field research conducted between 2008 and 2016. The monograph contains chapters that analyze and interpret both immovable and movable archaeological sources. For example, based on the spatial distribution of pottery, kitchen waste, and daub, a clear identification of early medieval above-ground structures was achieved, which would not have been possible to uncover under other conditions. The study includes partial conclusions and interpretations of the results of a nine-year archaeological research project. Everything is supplemented with a detailed textual catalog of the examined field relics, accompanied by a rich visual and plan appendix.
