Description

Murat speaks German well because he has lived in Vienna for a hundred years. The function of humor and irony in relation to the subject-forming offers of the television language course 'My Almanca'. The monograph examines the function of humor and irony concerning the subject-forming offers of the television language course. A type of analysis has been developed that consists of concepts of humor, irony, addressivity, othering, and subjectivization. The analysis explores humor as a means of transforming the addressee, humor as an expression of undecidability, humor as a power tool, humor as something that cannot be claimed. The analysis has shown that humor often leads to a higher degree of how racisms can be communicated, and characters of migrant otherness can be hierarchized based on how much they participate in humor.
