Description
One of the factors affecting the quality of education is the shortage of teachers, which is also contributed to by the so-called drop-out, meaning the departure of qualified teachers from schools or the education system. The most vulnerable professional group is, in fact, beginning teachers. The book presents the results of a research survey conducted in Czech primary schools, focusing on the socialization processes of beginning teachers and their objective determinants, which were identified at the interactive level (students, class), institutional level (school, colleagues, school management), and cultural level (community close to the school, including parents, broader cultural, social, and political context). The authors formulated a number of recommendations for educational policy, teacher education, and school management.
