Vznik a vývoj satiry v římské literatuře – Poláková Mariana (2017)

The publication deals with satire as a distinct genre of Roman literature. It defines satire within the diachronic development of the genre and places it in context, highlighting its peculiarities and specific problems encountered during its examination. Based on the analysis and comparison of the works of canonical authors of Roman satire (Lucilius, Horace, Persius, and Juvenal), it determines what characteristics a work must have to be considered satire. It also mentions ancient literary forms that are related to satire.
