Description
The presented publication outlines the historical development of two fundamental theoretical-methodological approaches in the study of religion. The first, historical part of the work describes the establishment of the naturalistic and protectionist paradigms among pre-Socratic philosophers and in early Christian thought, as well as their further development in the works of leading figures in religious studies from the 19th and 20th centuries. The second, systematic part of the work focuses more closely on selected aspects of cognitive science of religion against the backdrop of the methodological conflict between naturalism and protectionism.
