Description
The monograph 'South Slavic Phraseology Contrastively' is a collective scholarly publication by a total of twelve authors from seven countries. Its aim is to map the similarities and differences in certain aspects of phraseology of South Slavic and West Slavic languages, but in some chapters, Russian (genetic-linguistic reasons) and Hungarian (cultural-historical reasons) phraseological units are also included in the comparison. With its innovative intention to compare selected linguistic phenomena within the synchronous study of so-called small languages, the publication contributes to a better mutual understanding not only of linguistic but also literary, cultural, historical, ethnographic, national-psychological, and other connections of South Slavic nations with the Central European space.
