Description
The book presents traditional folk culture in Moravia from the mid-eighteenth century to the end of the nineteenth century through six thematic axes: autochthony – external influences – permanence over time – transformation over time – territorial unity – territorial diversity. The authors aim to illuminate the processes that shaped folk culture in the past and influenced its creators and bearers through specific cultural phenomena. Such an approach leads to a more vivid understanding of the life reality in the Moravian countryside in the past in all its variability, permanence, variability, and similarity.
