Description
The monograph deals with the traditions of party politics in Central and Eastern Europe before and during the communist era. It further examines the fragmentation and polarization of party systems, the relationships between parties and society, and the role of parties in governments. All of this is illustrated through the example of EU member states from the wave of so-called Eastern enlargement. The authors compare selected indicators and also reflect on the comparison between Western and Central-Eastern Europe.
