Description
The book is the result of research on the destruction of the fortifications of the Great Moravian settlement of Pohansko near Břeclav, which took place intermittently from 1958 to 2007 under the leadership of researchers from the scientific research station there. It presents individual sections of destruction and their evaluations, as well as a comprehensive assessment of the acquired knowledge and its integration into the overall framework in the area of southern Moravia, the core of Great Moravia in the 9th century. In connection with the construction of the fortifications, issues of transport, organization of work, and relationships between neighboring sites were also addressed.
