Description
On November 1 and 2, 2008, a meeting of doctoral program students in art history in the Czech Republic took place at the Seminar of Art History at Masaryk University. In the first block titled Art and Society, three contributions were presented, two of which were dedicated to specific historical examples of the mutual relationships between the art historical sphere and socio-political events. The last focused on the genesis and transformations of the basic concepts of heritage preservation. In the following section, Art History and Curatorial and Pedagogical Practice, three papers were presented that precisely matched the thematic focus of the block. The final, methodological section Research Methods in Art History was dedicated to the entire second day, during which the audience was introduced to seven contributions dealing with various methodological approaches.
