Description
Eva Válková graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Plzeň and works at the Psychiatric Hospital in Dobřany. Here, she met art therapist Professor Ferdinand Kukal and spent thirteen years creating verbal illustrations for his paintings. Her own poems have been published in the magazines Host, Tvar, and Plž (Plzeň Literary Life), in samizdat collections Doutník, and in the anthology of contemporary surrealist poetry Letenka do noci (Petrov 2004). The stories created during her gestalt therapy training formed her latest collection, titled Pohádky, mýty a jiné srdceryvnosti. Her current collection Na obojku z proutku růže is being published in the Heart Output series by Masaryk University. The poems are divided into four sections: Čekání na milost, Příběh, Polibek skla, and Hlemýžď duše.
