Diptera of the Pálava Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO II – Rozkošný Rudolf (1999)

The second part of the commented list compiled based on literary data and current research on dipteran insects occurring in the Pálava Biosphere Reserve in its proposed extended concept. A total of 3,017 species were identified, representing nearly 45% of the dipteran species inhabiting the entire Czech Republic. Each family is briefly characterized and accompanied by a list of species documented by published data or documentary collection material. The second part includes families from the Schizophora group (Acalyptrata and Calyptrata) and a concluding section that summarizes the current state of knowledge about dipterans, lists the species described from Pálava, and provides summary information on their monitoring and protection.
