Description
The story begins in February 1945, when young Prague criminal adjutant Jan Morava receives a case involving a sadistic murderer of widows. One of the victims is the widow of a German general, and the Prague Gestapo also starts to investigate the case, appointing Erwin Buback, a senior criminal advisor born in Prague, as their overseer. The case also becomes an opportunity to map the underground activities of the Prague police, which is the only armed force in the Protectorate. Thirty years after its first publication, Pavel Kohout reconsiders the novel and adds the final second to the starry hour.
