Description
The well-known and beloved French writer Delphine de Vigan continues in her novel Gratitude from her previous book Binding and again focuses on various aspects of interpersonal relationships. The heroine of this touching yet humorous book is Michele Seldová, known as Miška, a resident of a nursing home. This quirky old lady with the soul of a young girl paradoxically suffers from progressive aphasia, a speech disorder, despite having worked as an editor in a newspaper. The loss of words, which Miška replaces with others, is a source of comedic effects but also reveals much about her dramatic past.
