Description
Danny is unexpectedly released from prison, where he was serving an eight-year sentence for violence and bodily harm. He arrives in Copenhagen to seek out his oldest and essentially only friends, Malik and Christian. All three come from the same background, having grown up in a bleak housing estate where violence and crime were part of daily life. However, each managed to cope with their miserable childhood and youth differently... Danny has become a criminal whose belongings fit into two plastic bags, Malik is studying to become a dentist and trying to keep his father's restaurant afloat, and Christian works as a police officer in the drug enforcement unit. Danny wants to visit Malik first, but he learns from Malik's family that he disappeared a few weeks ago. As Danny searches for him, not only Malik's fate gradually unfolds, but also the circumstances of Danny's conviction as well as Christian's financial problems. A crucial question slowly creeps into focus: why was Danny actually released early right now?
