Description
Ida makes a living writing fictional stories for the radio. Years ago, she moved from Sicily to Rome, where she lives with her husband Pietro – who provides her with support and tenderness, but all the passion has faded from their relationship. Now she is returning to her childhood home, which her mother has turned into a museum, to help her with the sale. Just crossing the threshold plunges her back into her traumatic past: when she was thirteen, her father disappeared without a trace. One morning at 6:16, he got up and left forever. A father who is neither alive nor dead regularly appears in her nightmares and even starts to manifest as a ghost in broad daylight. In the stifling atmosphere, the tension between Ida and her mother also reaches a climax. Aware that everyone is a survivor of their own battles, she admits that moving to Rome was merely an attempt to escape from ghosts, obsessions, and inner demons. With maximum effort, she ultimately overcomes them – and on the way back, she symbolically buries her missing father. Her watch finally shows 6:17.
