Description
This perhaps the most famous novel of Russian literature of the 20th century was first published in 1957 in Italy, then in 1988 in the USSR, and officially in our country in 1990. Pasternak (1890-1960) was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1958, which he was forced to decline. The novel captures the milestones of Yuri Zhivago's life, intertwined with significant events in Russia: the 1905 revolution, World War I, the year 1917, and the post-revolutionary development. It blends lyrical depictions of personal relationships with reflections on the meaning of life and art; the romantic entanglements of Yuri, Tonya, and Lara are both terrifying and beautiful at the same time. Fate plays a significant role, entering the lives of the characters and connecting them with one another.
