The novel tells the story of four people whose fates are deeply intertwined. We meet Alice and Tomáš at the moment when she throws in his face that she never loved him. We soon get to know their son Patrik and his partner Stella – Patrik is in a coma after a severe car accident. To make matters worse, his father develops Alzheimer's disease, so Alice is responsible for both: one who is learning to live again and the other who is trying not to forget life.
