Description
Konstantin Biebl (1898–1951) was a prominent representative of the avant-garde poetic branch of the 1920s generation. He was a member of the Brno Literary Group, from which he moved to Devětsil in 1924. In 1934, he was one of the founders of the Prague surrealist group. His stay in the Pacific had literary significance, inspiring the collection 'With the Ship Bringing Tea and Coffee' (1927). Towards the end of his life, Biebl suffered from a painful illness and hereditary depression, which contributed to his suicide.
