Description
The novel follows three longtime friends, each leading a very different life. Agáta appears to enjoy a happy marriage with Jonáš and their two sons, while childless Klára seems carefree but compensates for her unspoken problems by changing partners and overeating. After divorcing her husband, Anka looks after her twins and gradually convinces those around her that she does not need a man in her life. Their friendship appears strong and lasting until Agáta begins receiving anonymous messages claiming that Jonáš is unfaithful. Klára withdraws as an unhealthy diet causes her to suffer a psychological collapse and behave with hostility, while Anna keeps a secret she has no intention of sharing. Each woman faces her disappointments alone. Can the three friends find their way back to one another, or is a friendship that has ended never a true friendship at all?
