This Czech-language book explores Mirek Brát's fascination with the aquatic world through text and photography. For him, the world is an island in an ocean of inspiration, and even an undiscovered place can be found in the shallow waters of a small bay beside a busy beach, if approached with the wonder of a first encounter. Each experience becomes another piece of a mosaic in which the image of the surrounding world takes shape, providing the inspiration to express admiration for the water universe. The book takes its name from Amphitrite, one of the most beautiful sea goddesses in Greek mythology, daughter of the sea god Nereus and his wife Doris. Also known as “blue-eyed” or “roaring,” she personifies the sea and is said to dwell in a golden palace in the depths. Amfitríta – Světem mezi dvěma břehy is the seventh book in the Mare Nostrum project.
