Description
With a sense of humor, spirit, lightness, and visible joy in the writing, a story unfolds whose main character is the Jewish trickster Abraham. He flees from American political correctness all the way to Prague. However, as it soon becomes clear, this doesn't help him much. His brother Jacob, a pragmatic commentator, is of a completely different nature. Abraham is a trickster, which is the same as a person you love but who also irritates you. In the Czech Republic, he starts a family, translates, has a swing orchestra, a charming wife, and a daughter. Suddenly, however, something goes wrong. Abraham is falsely accused of domestic violence with the active assistance of a non-profit organization. His brother Jacob is always willing to help him, but Abraham wants to solve all his problems on his own. At the guardianship court, he decides to defeat progressive ideology with its own weapons. However, he only succeeds with mixed results. There aren't many books where it's appropriate to jot down some thoughts or at least thoroughly imprint them in memory. They might come in handy. You never know when a slightly opened Overton window of opportunity means a breath of fresh air, and when it is the prelude to defenestration.
