Description
When Ejpovice is mentioned, most people think of the construction of the so-called Ejpovice Tunnel, which significantly shortened the train journey from Prague to Plzeň in 2018, or the Ejpovice reservoir with its famous cliffs. However, few in the public know that Ejpovice has a rich history, especially in May 1945. Historians and military history enthusiasts will take notice, as behind the unassuming name lies a place that transformed its immediate surroundings beyond recognition in 1945, and to this day, thanks to the events discussed in this book, there are plenty of tangible artifacts related to the end of World War II in the Czech territory. In 2004, I completely fell under the spell of the metal detector, which inexperienced people often call a mine detector. Since then, discovering World War II history has literally become my mission. Specifically, the village of Ejpovice has become dear to my heart over the years, and as you will see for yourself, I have helped historians fill in the gaps in history with some personal finds from these places.
