Description
František Babočka was born in 1901 into a poor family. However, he was different from the other boys in the village. At his father's request, he trained as a butcher and discovered that he had a strong inner connection to blood and the killing of animals. He experienced a peculiar satisfaction from the power to control the lives of other creatures. Although he tried to suppress this feeling, he still sensed it in his subconscious. During the war years, he witnessed the horrors of Nazism and its henchmen. When the Extraordinary People's Court was established in Brno on May 23, 1945, to judge the exponents of the occupation regime, traitors, and collaborators, he applied for the position of executioner. He succeeded. On June 9, 1945, the first death sentence was pronounced and carried out on the same day. Over the next two years, Babočka executed nearly one hundred people.
