All power on Earth is concentrated in the Northern Hemisphere. Lined up in the temperate zone are three world powers: America, Russia, and China, along with two industrial powers, Western Europe and Japan. They dominate the rest of the Earth, with the USA having previously held the position of the sole superpower. Both Eurasian challengers, China and Russia, have entered the fight for increasingly limited global resources and control of transportation routes: The current world champion responds by inciting unrest and civil wars in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa. In South America, it gradually organizes coups in rebellious states that broke away from the USA at the turn of the millennium and established ties with China, replacing existing governments with those loyal to the USA. In Europe, it has weakened the wealthy northern countries through mass migration and economic crises, firmly pulling transatlantic networks to its side. Militarily, it seems invulnerable: While in 2017, it spent around $900 billion on armaments in conjunction with its 29 NATO allies, Russia and China together spent less than a third of that amount, specifically $294 billion.
