Description
Nestor Capoeira was initiated into capoeira by Mestre Leopoldina, a living legend. Later, he joined the Senzala group and in 1969 earned the coveted "red cord," the highest rank in Senzala. In 1990, Nestor left Senzala and began teaching his unique approach to the Game at his own school. He was a pioneer of capoeira teaching in Europe, and his books have been published in France, Denmark, Germany, and the United States. He has worked in film, theater, and television. Currently, he teaches at the Planetarium de Gávea in Rio de Janeiro.
