Description
In a detective story set in Florida, 'crash consultant' Travis McGee, an unconventional amateur detective, and his friend Meyer become accidental witnesses to an attempted murder of a girl, who is thrown into a river by her killers with a weight tied to her. By saving her, they stumble upon organized prostitution and a chain of murders targeting wealthy and lonely middle-aged men. The investigation is complicated by the fact that the girl does not escape her murderers and dies under the wheels of a stolen car. With the help of dancer Merrimay and by utilizing her resemblance to the murdered girl, the criminal gang is caught.
