With the arrival of summer, our eating habits also change. We crave meals that are lighter, refreshing, easy, and above all, quick to prepare, so we don't have to spend too much time at the stove. However, it's not just a change in our taste or a tendency to spend more time outdoors that directs us to a different diet – our bodies also require a different way of eating. Due to higher temperatures and the increasing risk of dehydration, it is recommended to increase fluid intake; at the same time, one should eat more fruits and vegetables. Fresh salads can be prepared from a wide variety of ingredients, such as legumes, light cheeses, chicken, or fish. Seafood deserves a special place, and fruity desserts like refreshing sorbets also deserve attention. In summer, we simply need less filling meals. For example, lunch consisting of a grain salad and crunchy vegetables or a fish skewer with lemon ice shavings is ideal: nutritious yet low in calories.
