Description
The case of Olga Hepnarová – a girl who killed because she couldn't live. An attempt to probe the soul of a girl who, in 1973 in Prague's Letná, deliberately killed eight people with a truck. On Tuesday, July 10, 1973, twenty-two-year-old Olga Hepnarová got into a truck and drove into people waiting for a tram in Letná, Prague. Eight were left dead and several injured. According to her statement, she took revenge on people for her unhappy childhood and overall miserable life. Roman Cílek attempts in his book to map Olga's life story, understand her reasoning, and uncover the background and motive of her act. He presents readers with her own testimonies from the trial and confronts them with the views of her parents, sister, boyfriend, colleagues, and casual acquaintances. The book also includes assessments from psychologists and psychiatrists who studied the girl's personality. Opinions from a social worker, graphologist, numerologist, and astrologer are also included.
