Description
Seventeen-year-old high school student Teo, who lives only with his mother, spends his summer vacation at his grandparents' house in a mountain village. Since childhood, he has felt lonely and unbalanced. He longs for love and meets Ester, who has a four-year-old child, Charlotte. Teo is not indifferent to Ester. They meet by the Bystřina River outside the village and spend a lot of time together. Teo begins to photograph and paint Ester. He encounters a Wanderer, a strange lonely man who also paints, and Teo firmly decides to become a painter. At the end of the vacation, something happens, and Teo returns to the city sad and disappointed. He rejects his mother's suggestion to go abroad to study economics as soon as possible. He ultimately fulfills his dream of becoming a painter. He meets Horalka, who is older than him. He realizes that he is not just looking for a girlfriend and lover in partners but also for a mother. Together with Horalka, they overcome a long and painful journey. Years later, Teo reconnects with his grandfather and finally finds the roots of his childhood. He tries to find the now-adult Ester's daughter Charlotte to help her. He is convinced that family is the foundation of happiness in life. The romantic story is primarily about searching for and finding the meaning of life, love in family, its essence, and cohesion.
