The book begins at a time when the Russian Air Force inherited Soviet strategic bombers after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. In addition to more than 500 photographs, many of which have not been published before, it depicts the insignia and other emblems of Russian strategic bombing units. It also includes detailed color drawings of the aircraft. Together with the book Soviet Strategic Aviation during the Cold War, it provides a comprehensive view of nearly 60 years of existence of Soviet and Russian strategic aviation.
