Description
The first part of an adventurous novel, whose main plot revolves around the efforts of Old Shatterhand and the Apache chief Winnetou to capture the criminal brothers, Harry and Thomas Melton, and Jonathan, the son of Thomas Melton, who do not shy away from murder in their quest for gold and money. Old Shatterhand and Winnetou, with the help of their friends, rescue Polish immigrants who were deceitfully lured overseas by the Meltons and were to end up as slaves in mercury mines. The only one among them, the beautiful Judith, seizes the chance of fate to escape and ultimately becomes the wife of the Cunning Snake, the chief of the Yum tribe.
