Description
The story of a PTP soldier and college student is meant to be somewhat of a counterpoint to the well-known "Black Barons" by M. Švandrlík. It is entirely true and illustrates the experience of most "black" soldiers, that no matter how hard and dangerous work in the mines was, it was no match for the bullying they suffered before and long after the war. The ruined youth, destroyed lives, and thwarted promising careers of PTP soldiers should forever serve as a reminder of how far unchecked power can go. Four fateful disasters have marked the fate of the author of this book: the confiscation of property during the Protectorate, expulsion from university, time spent in a forced labor camp for PTP, the confiscation of all property, and the eviction of his family from their apartment. Of the three, it can be said that over time, it was possible to at least partially come to terms with their consequences, albeit with great effort. But it was impossible, despite all efforts, to catch up and rectify what was caused by the expulsion from university and its consequences. It reflected throughout his entire active life.
