This book was written to truthfully show the life and details of the deployment of Czech soldiers in what is probably the most dangerous place on the planet, unlike similar but mostly officially focused works. I describe what I have seen with my own eyes and experienced firsthand during a total of 21 combat missions that I completed with our and American soldiers. I show the preparation for battle as well as how they spend the little free time they have, far from their loved ones. How they remember their loved ones and what they think about their tasks. I lightly touch on the lives, training, and nature of their American comrades-in-arms. I also describe encounters with local people, simple Afghans, and Afghan politicians, against whom the Czech representatives of the people are, despite all the scandals, as pure as a maiden. I also explain the basic differences between Islam and Christianity. A significant part of the book is an analysis of the tactics of insurgent groups – not just the Taliban or Al-Qaeda, whose roots often trace back to the time of the Mujahideen war against the Soviet occupiers (1919-1989) and also to the current methods of defense of ISAF allied forces.
