Description
The period of German occupation of the Czech lands and World War II from 1939 to 1945 represents an important turning point not only in the fates of individual scientists but also in the scientific infrastructure itself. The closure of Czech universities and colleges, the seizure of their property, the destruction of valuable collections, and the persecution of members of the intelligentsia - all of this represents just one part of Nazi policy. A less well-known chapter shows the approach to research in the Protectorate or the development and transfer of technologies within arms production to the Protectorate. The presented work attempts to analyze not only the main lines of the German approach but also the competencies and decision-making powers within the Nazi polycratic political system.
