The title was first published in Germany in 1930 and was translated into Czech the following year. The author describes the proletarianization and ideological 'homelessness' of employees. Based on interviews and examples, he analyzes the position of employees amidst industrialized labor, urban environments, and entertainment culture. The author takes a critical stance towards the 'culture of employees,' negatively assessing the escapes from everyday life through culture and sports, which he believes lead to the suppression of reality.
