The issue of political executions in Czechoslovakia during the rule of the Communist Party has long attracted public attention. However, in the past, researchers have tended to adopt a selective approach to certain cases, most often associated with the most famous political trials. The presented collective monograph maps, in the form of individual biographical entries conceived as case studies, all known tragic cases of those executed for political reasons. In this context, it does not shy away from controversial cases that lie on the border between political and criminal offenses, or even cross it. In addition to bringing individual human fates closer, the book sheds light on the overall state of research and places these executions within the broader framework of political trials. The publication is in four volumes.
