Description
The book comprehensively addresses the drug problem in Czechoslovakia from 1938 to 1989, during which totalitarian regimes were in power – the government of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, controlled by German occupiers, and then the communist regime. The publication is divided into thematic blocks containing an outline of the international situation and then an analysis of the state in Czechoslovakia. The main topics include the use of drugs by secret services and the military, medical research on psychoactive substances, illegal production and distribution of drugs, drug subcultures and consumption of drugs, legislative frameworks of the drug problem, the work of security forces, treatment of drug addiction, and prevention of drug abuse. The aim of the publication is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the issue of drug abuse and to shape drug policy in the Czech Republic.
