Description
Research and technology for the production of nanofiber materials have been rapidly developing in recent decades. Along with their increasing use in areas such as bioengineering, filtration, electronics, probe development, healthcare, and textiles, the demands for analyzing the properties of these materials are also rising. Further areas of application are being sought, potential risks are being predicted, and last but not least, accreditation of university study programs focusing on nanofibers is taking place. The aim of this book is to provide a comprehensive text for readers focused on natural sciences, technology, and engineering, describing the theory of nanofiber formation (with an emphasis on hydrodynamic instabilities), the technologies for their production (especially electrospinning), and areas of their application (primarily in healthcare). Economic and philosophical reflections are also included.
