Description
The publication presents 36 of the most significant futurist manifestos that strive for a radical transformation of various artistic genres: not only literature but also theater, film and photography, painting and sculpture, architecture, and music. The main author of these programmatic statements is the founder of the futurist movement, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, but other artists also contributed, such as the sculptor Boccioni, painters Carrŕ, Severini, Russolo, Depero, musician Balilla Pratella, and architect Sant’Elia. Futurism, proclaiming a program of liberated words and establishing a 'wireless imagination,' was one of the most influential avant-garde movements, and its ideas continue to resonate in many modern and postmodern experiments.
