Description
The collective monograph in English titled "Science, Occupation, War: 1939–1945" contains contributions dedicated to the issue of Nazi scientific policy and its impacts in selected occupied countries of Central and Western Europe. Countries of smaller and medium size were deliberately chosen to allow for mutual comparison. The themes addressed include the strategies and approaches of individual occupation administrations, the significance of various institutions (universities), fields, or the specific position of scientist-emigrants, the involvement of science in industry, and the misuse of science in human experiments at the Auschwitz extermination camp. The publication includes indexes and is supplemented with visual attachments.
