Description
Crossing borders and exploring new geographical areas has always been the goal of researchers and scientists, who enter new regions, discover unknown places, and encounter new societies and cultures. However, the essence of academic work is not just the expansion of knowledge through overcoming geographical and territorial lines. We strive to contribute to a better understanding of the world and social structures by also crossing and connecting various disciplines, cultures, methodologies, as well as stereotypes and perspectives. The authors of the contributions in this book are united by the study of Tibetan and Himalayan regions. Each chapter, however, presents a unique perspective, approach, and boundary-crossing within academic studies aimed at expanding our understanding not only of the Tibetan-Himalayan cultural area.
