All my wanderings are a memoir by Jindřich Vacek. In it, the author reminisces about his childhood in Plzeň, his secondary and university studies, and especially about his twelve-year stay in Bucharest, where as a university educator he experienced the ruthless reality of Ceausescu's regime and Iliescu's brutal neocommunism. Significant attention in the book is devoted to travels to Lusatia, Albania, the Republic of Moldova, Israel, and elsewhere, as well as meetings with writers from these countries. The book concludes with the author's memories of his work as a translator – among other things, he was the first to introduce translations of Israeli literature directly from Modern Hebrew to the Czech Republic – and as a publishing editor.
