Description
The publication maps the development and transformations of religious life among industrial workers in the interwar Czech lands through the example of four industrial cities with different dominant production orientations – Jablonec nad Nisou, Kladno, Ostrava, and Zlín. The authors strive to clarify the role of traditional and new religious actors in the specific industrial environment and to analyze the diverse forms of workers' religiosity. Their interest also includes the formulation of social programs by religious societies and communities and their search for answers to questions about the ideal social arrangement.
