Description
The book is the first Czech translation of a foreign book from the currently very relevant field of intercultural psychology. It is primarily intended for undergraduate psychology students, but also for students of related fields, as well as professionals working wherever they come into contact with people from foreign countries and cultures. The book is divided into 12 chapters dealing with intercultural similarities and differences in perception and thinking, emotions and motivation, personality, mental illnesses, communication, and many others. The book is interspersed with profiles titled 'Critical Thinking' and 'Intercultural Sensitivity', as well as numerous real-life examples. At the end of each chapter, there is a summary of key findings and important terminology. The emphasis is primarily on critical thinking about the issues and on the methodological aspects of intercultural research.
