Description
The text is a complex work that maps the theoretical foundations and practical forms of Islamism. The first part focuses on the Western reflection of the term, mainly in the Francophone environment where it first appeared, and in the Anglophone world, where this term later spread the most and shifted in meaning. Attention is also given to the Czech debate on Islamism. The second part of the work analyzes the genesis of Islamism and post-Islamism in their various forms and organizational structures (political parties, movements, etc.). It explains which trends most influenced the emergence of Islamism (e.g., variants of Salafism and anti-colonial movements), while also analyzing in detail, among other things, the variants of the Muslim Brotherhood, Khomeini's concept of the Islamic state, and finally, groups classified as radical Islamism (al-Qaeda, ISIS).
